Diligence raisonnable de la chaîne d’approvisionnement pour le caoutchouc naturel
Ce que les importateurs sont invités à démontrer, quels documents existent et comment constituer un dossier qui survit à un audit.
Due diligence requirements on agricultural supply chains have moved from voluntary guidance to binding obligations in several markets. Natural rubber is within scope of some of these regimes.
What is being asked
Importers and operators may be required to demonstrate that relevant commodities were produced legally and, in some regimes, without causing deforestation after a specified cut-off date. The practical obligation is to collect geolocation and legality information for the producing plot, assess risk, and mitigate where risk is non-negligible.
Documents that exist today
- •Chain-of-custody and traceability documentation from the processor or trader.
- •Legality and tenure documentation at the producing-unit level where it can be obtained.
- •Third-party chain-of-custody certifications operating in the natural rubber sector.
- •Supplier due diligence statements and risk assessment records.
Building a file that survives an audit
- •Obtain the supplier's written due diligence statement for the specific lots you buy.
- •Keep the chain of custody from the import lot back to the processing unit.
- •Record the risk assessment you performed and the mitigation you applied — the record of the assessment is as important as the conclusion.
- •Store documents for the period the regulation requires, and make sure they are retrievable by lot number.
Practical note for buyers
Requirements differ by destination market and are updated over time. Confirm the obligation that applies to your own import before specifying documentation requirements to a supplier, and ask suppliers what traceability depth they can actually provide — capability varies substantially by origin. ## Need the documents or today's price?
